Love this show!
I really enjoy these shows. I’m puzzled by part of Ep. 2 concerning the tombstone in SC supposedly of the owner of 3 generations of slaves. That tombstone seemed to indicate that the man buried there was only 26 when he died. Perhaps he had inherited them? Also, how did Michael’s ancestors get the land? Did their former owner help them or will it to them? Other shows have included such information.
Love your show. I am now a huge Michael K Williams fan!
I wish that you would go into more information in what life was like for everyone during the time of slavery. Life was not easy for anyone who was not very wealthy. I think that is lost and it disappoints me.
Education is powerful and all aspects of the life of our ancestors is important.
Cindy – you may want to post this comment over at the PBS Finding Your Roots site – I don’t have anything to do with the show except to help promote it to genealogists. Cheers.
