Dr. Phil Took the MyHeritage DNA Test and Here’s What He Found Out . . .

Dr. Phil Took the MyHeritage DNA Test and Here’s What He Found Out . . .

It seems that stories about DNA testing are all over the media, including talk shows like the Dr. Phil show. On yesterday’s episode, Dr. Phil revealed that he had taken the MyHeritage DNA test and was surprised not just by the ethnicity results, but with the number of DNA matches he found! Click HERE to view the Dr. Phil episode.

According to recent publicity information sent to me by MyHeritage: “We revealed to Dr. Phil, interesting insights into his family history and from his DNA. Dr. Phil discovered that he is Irish, Scottish, and Welsh (64.3%), English (28.4%), and Iberian (7.3%). He also received 20,000 DNA matches to MyHeritage users from 64 different countries!”

While you may keep seeing advertisements for 23andMe and AncestryDNA on television and online, did you know that the MyHeritage DNA test kit is one of the most popular personal DNA test kits among genealogists and family historians? It’s also perfect for your older relatives since it is a “swab” test instead of the standard spit test offered by other vendors.

Right now you can get the MyHeritage DNA test kit for just $59 USD and you get FREE SHIPPING when you use promo code DRPHIL at checkout! The current Early Holiday Sale promotion is valid through TOMORROW, Wednesday, December 12th so don’t delay! Click HERE to shop!

Josh Duhamel on This Week’s Episode of Who Do You Think You Are? on TLC

Josh Duhamel on This Week’s Episode of Who Do You Think You Are? on TLC

The new, although short, season of Who Do You Think You Are? continues on the TLC network with last night’s episode featuring actor Josh Duhamel. In the second episode of the current season, “Josh Duhamel travels to England to investigate the extraordinary life of his 12 times great-grandfather and uncovers an astonishing, dark twist of interrogation and torture that rocks his belief system to the core.”

Now if you didn’t catch this episode when it aired, you’ll need access to a television subscription platform such as Hulu. While TLC has opted to make the first episode of the current season of Who Do You Think You Are? featuring actress Mandy Moore available online for free, the Josh Duhamel episode is “locked down.” This means subscribers only! TLC has a tendency to do this periodically and there is no rhyme or reason as to which episodes are free to access and which episodes are locked.
